Our Story




O Street Deli has been born from a love of local produce and the unique culture of village life, of which Norfolk bears so many similarities to its French counterparts.

Norfolk is a county full of local artisan producers that creates wonderful products of provenance that we want to share. France is known for its culture of food and wine too good not to share.

O Street combines the two. 

We invite you to join us, at O Street, situated in the beautiful market town of Fakenham - twinned with Olivet in France.

We are as small as we are local, so we politely request that please book to guarantee your space, particularly in the early evening - although we will always guarantee you a warm drink and a smile to take away.


About Olivet

Situated approximately 70 miles south west of Paris, Olivet lies in the ‘centre’ department of France. Full of charm, Olivet has an architectural and historical heritage that seduces its visitors.

The town has a certain calm, as well as an authenticity that will make you want to stay once you visit. It is well known for its locally produced cheese ‘Olivet Cendre’ available at O Street Deli.

Olivet Cendré is a French soft cheese made from cow’s milk, collected during the spring when cows graze along the banks of the Loire. The cheese is slowly ripened for at least one month in a coating of ashes, often obtained from burnt grapevines.

The cheese has a smooth, supple texture, while the flavors are mild, delicate, and earthy. It is recommended to pair it with white wines such as Touraine and red wines such as Sancerre.
